Rainy seasons come with a lot of humidity and moisture, peak season for metal and steel objects to accumulate rust and eventually crumble. If an object fall prey to enough rust, there's no fixing it. For every car owner, the shiny and sleek appearance is something to be very proud about, especially the expensive cars. If rusts starts to form on the body of your car, then it is likely that the rust will spread to other areas - the overall appearance will be far from impressive. To protect your vehicle from rust, we at Fuccillo Imports have the right tips for you. Adopt these tips and keep rust away.

1. Regular Washing

To avoid the formation of rust on the surface of your car, take some time out at least once in every two weeks and wash your car thoroughly. Washing will help to remove old rusty marks and reduce chances of rusting.

2. Wax Coating

After a complete wash, try to apply a coat of wax on the surface and interior of your car. Try to do this regularly like once in 4 months. A fine wax finish helps to keep the surface oily and reduces moisture from gathering on the surface. This helps to keep rust away for a longer duration.

3. Examine Hidden Areas

Usually, the trunk, undercarriage and external parts of your vehicle will corrode sooner than expected. Take some time out and inspect these areas. If you see rust, then wash it out and apply some wax.

4. Use Salt-Free Water

If you want to protect your car from rust, always wash it with salt-free water. Salt is popular for its corrosive property. To extend the life of your vehicle interior and exterior, use fresh water at all times. Salt water can also squeeze between the wheel bolts and they will rust in no time. Also use lubricant oils to wipe the metallic surfaces, it helps to keep rust away.

5. Cover You Car

When you are done with your trips for the day, use a leather material and cover your car. Thick leather materials are good for blocking rust from sticking to the metallic surface of car. This cover keeps moisture away and reduces chances of rust formation.

To ensure that your vehicle stays rust free, always follow these steps and try to keep the car as dry as possible. Winter season is all about wet and slippery roads. If you want to enjoy a road trip to your best friend's house in this cold season, then you must ensure that your car has the right tires. Winter tires come in unique designs. Companies manufacture them in innovative ways that are perfect for winter roads. They have firm grip and improved durability. These tires look very similar to the regular tires.

At Fuccillo Imports, we have dealt with many new and used cars and know all about the right tires. So, let's look at some features that winter tires have.

Groove Patterns

Before purchasing a winter tire, always ensure that they have extra grooves. Companies refer to these groves as ôsipes. They appear on the tread in zigzag patterns. If you don't see extra sipes, then know that the tire dealer is just trying to make his money by giving you a regular tire.

Side Markings

Manufacturers usually write every detail about a tire on its sidewalls. From the width, size, speed and load capacity to the manufacturing date, everything is there on the walls. If you want to buy a winter tire, then search the sides for the markings ôM+S or ôM/S. This stands for ôMud and Snow. If the tire is a regular one, then you will see an ôR marking (for ôRegular).

Some tires don't come with these markings. Instead, you will see small drawings of snowflakes and mountain on the sidewalls. If you see this drawing then you can purchase the tire. Never opt for tires that don't have these markings. In the end, they won't last long as compared to the genuine winter ones.

Price and Condition

Before purchasing, always take your time to inspect the condition and price of the winter tires. If the wear and tear is less and it has a good price then you can go for it. Manufacturers use super quality rubber instead of the regular rubber ones. In the slippery slow, these quality tires ensure that they set a firm grip on the ground. These tires last all through the winter season and are available at almost all tire outlets.

To get cars with the best quality tires and engines, visit our outlets in Adams, Watertown, and Syracuse. At Fuccillo Imports, we have car models like Hyundai Sonata, Hyundai Elantra, Susbaru Forester, and Mazda 3.

Starting your car on an early winter morning can be a nuisance. A major reason for this is that lower temperatures affect the battery strength. The battery tends to become heavy for the engine because the engine oil in winter tends to thicken. Another reason could be that the battery plates weaken.

An average battery, if given the right maintenance, has a lifespan of about 24-30 months. We at Fuccillo Imports know all the tricks of increasing your car's battery life. We are car dealers in both new and used cars like Hyundai Sonata, Hyundai Elantra, Mazda 3, and Subaru Forester. There are some key tips that you can follow and ensure that your car's battery remains charged all the while so that it can perform efficiently. We have enough experience with car batteries and would like to share some tips with you.

Tip #1 Refill with Distilled Water

During summer season, there is a high likelihood that your car battery will lose all its water and fluids. Always ensure that you top up the electrolytes of the battery. Use the ratio 1:3 (1-sulfuric Acid and 3-distilled water). Usually, water is the main fluid that evaporates in short spans and you will need to refill the battery with water. Use distilled water at all times. Water with impurities can affect the battery life and wreak havoc on the battery.

Tip #2 Replace Battery Clamps

As months pass by, a time comes when the terminals and battery clamps begin to deteriorate. Thin layers of rust built up around these terminals, hindering the passage of current within the battery. If this happens then your car won't start up immediately. To avoid the formation of rust around these clamps, pour some boiled distilled water over the clamps and wash out the rust particles. Clean each terminal and fit the clamps back in to their position. However, if the terminals and clamps have gone beyond the stage of any repairs, then it is advisable that you call in an expert and get them changed.

Tip #3 Use Multi-Viscosity Oil

Viscosity is a key property of engine oils and most people overlook this point. Viscosity in oils refers to its tendency of resistance to flow at fluctuating temperatures. For oil to flow smoothly, it must be pure and ôthin to swiftly flow at all temperatures. At the same time, it must also have the right thickness to aid protection in hot summers. To boost battery life, use viscosity oils. They not only exert lesser load on the engine, but they also start up the engine immediately.

Follow these useful tips and extend your car's life! For more expert tips and durable battery life, get in touch with us at Fuccillo Imports. Our outlets are operational in Adams, Watertown, and Syracuse.

There is no doubt that driving in big cities comes with great challenges. When you hit the busy roads, you will encounter all sorts of drivers. Some will follow the traffic rules and drive safe, while others won't and break traffic rules without a second thought. In such situations, you have to remain vigilant at all times. The good news for you is that we have experience with all the situations you can face on the road. We at Fuccillo Imports have defensive driving measures for you. Follow them and enhance your driving skills on busy roads.

Keep a ôSafe Distance

Once you are on the road, stay within the specified speed limits. If you end up increasing your speed, then you may lose control and meet with a mishap. Especially on busy roads, try to keep a safe distance from other cars in case they immediately press the brakes.

Turn On Indicators

Most rule breaking drivers don't follow this important point. When making any turns, always switch on the indicators at least 100 meters before the turn. This gives a warning to other vehicles at your back and sides so they slow down. Most accidents on roads happen because people don't indicate where they want to turn. Always keep in mind that the lives of people are also at risk.

Apply Brakes before Time

On windy and rainy days especially, always drive slowly. Rains make the roads slippery and increase your chances of skidding. If you apply the brakes at a very close distance to another vehicle, then it can increase your chance of having an accident. The car will skid and collide with other vehicles. On windy days, your car might not have a steady balance. If you slow down then your car will remain stable and you can react to any situation before time.

Follow Signal Rules

When driving, always try to follow the strict signal rules. Breaking rules can only cause more accidents and mishaps. When red lights come up, most people tend to cross the roads at that time. If you don't slow down and go fast, you might end up taking a life. Always ensure that you follow traffic rules and wear seat belts.

At Fuccillo Imports, we have more tips for you. We sell new and used car models like Hyundai Sonata, Hyundai Elantra, Mazda 3, and Susbaru Forester. We have outlets in Adams, Watertown, and Syracuse. Visit us now and get the car of your dreams.

how-to-change-a-tire-photo-268125-s-1280x782

Many of us hit the roads without even the least idea of how to change a flat tire. Of course, a tire won't warn you before going flat! When driving to work or to a friend's place you might have to stop in the middle of the way to replace the flat one. In most countries, you can easily go to any tire repair shop and get it fixed. What if there is no shop nearby, what will you do?

We at Fuccillo Imports have some simple steps for you, and once you master them, you will be able to change tires like a pro - no matter when and where the need arises. Here's our guide:

1. Find Flat Spots

When you are about to change your flat tire, the first step is to find a flat spot. This spot is very important because when the jack lifts the car, the pivot might move and if the surface is not flat then your car will lose its balance.

2. Turn On the Head Lights

Ensure that you turn on your car headlights as a traffic precaution. If not a vehicle might just bump in to you and the results can be fatal. While you work on changing the tire, it's necessary that other cars stay away from you. These lights will warn other cars and they will maintain a good distance.

3. Unscrew the Nuts

Before the car lifts up on the jack, ensure that you use a wheel spanner and unscrew the nuts. If you don't loosen the nuts before you lift the car, then the pressure will just push the vehicle down and it will affect the suspension. To loosen the nuts, you might have to remove the wheel cover first.

4. Lift the Car High Enough

To remove the flat tire with ease, you will have to use the jack and lift it the car to about 7-8 inches from the ground. Place the jack on a solid metallic place so that it has a firm grip. All vehicles have different spots for placing the jack. Place it on the appropriate spot.

5. Fix the Spare Tire

Once the nuts are out, place the spare tire in line with the screw holes. Push the nuts in the appropriate holes and use a spanner to fix them firmly in position. Gentle turn the jack and bring the car back to ground level. Put the flat tire back in the boot and you are all set to go.

These are the basic steps for changing a tire. If you want to replace your new car with a new one, then visit Fuccillo Imports. We have excellent cars like Hyundai Sonata, Hyundai Elantra, Mazda 3, and Susbaru Forester. Come to our outlets in Adams, Watertown, and Syracuse, we have both new and used cars.
